June 29/06/2009: According to various blogs on the Internet, the CNN
reported, that the Jackson family is meeting with an imam to make the
funeral arrangements for the jenazah (Muslim funeral prayer) for
Michael Jackson. This was announced by Wolf Blitzer in ‘The Situation
Room’ an exclusive show on the CNN.
Blitzer appeared to have mentioned about the Jackson family talking to
an Imam in Los Angeles (apparently from the Masjid where Jermain
Jackson goes to pray) to officiate in the ‘Jenazah’ prayer of Michael.
Controversy is raging on the internet over the number of days a Muslim
is to be buried, which is 3 days after the death. However, with
Michael Jackson this might be different.
In the meantime, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, the Amir of the Muslim Alliance in
North America and one of the most prominent imams in the United
States, said he wanted to be at the ‘Jenazah’ prayer of Michael
Jackson. Imam Siraj sends his condolences to the family of Michael
Jackson and well wishes to his family, wrote the same blog that told
the story of the Wolf Blitzer saying an imam is being sought to do
Michael’s burial prayer.
